Baseball Recap: Scotts Valley Wins Going Away Against Harbor

After only two runs in their last game, Scotts Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Harbor on Tuesday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 17-5 win. With that victory, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Kaleb Wing made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Scotts Valley got a massive performance out of Clayton Pryor, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave Pryor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lukas Bloom, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Scotts Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Scotts Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Harbor, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-6.

Scotts Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
