Basketball Game Preview: Molalla Indians vs. Madras White Buffaloes

Molalla hasn't had much luck against Madras recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Molalla Indians will venture away from home to take on the Madras White Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

While Molalla didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Estacada with a sharp 46-26 win on Tuesday. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Rangers are ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after only 23 points in their last game, Madras made sure to put some points up on the board against Gladstone on Tuesday. Madras blew past Gladstone 63-38. The White Buffaloes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Madras' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Molalla, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

Things could have been worse for Molalla, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-48 loss to Madras in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Molalla avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
