Bishop McNamara and Mt. Carmel squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Bishop McNamara had to settle for second. They took a 61-42 bruising from the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces. The Fightin' Irish's loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Mt. Carmel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maycee Randall led the charge by going 10-for-15 en route to 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Randall has scored at least a third of Mt. Carmel's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Hershey, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine assists.

Bishop McNamara's defeat dropped their record down to 27-8. As for Mt. Carmel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 22 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-4 record this season.

Bishop McNamara does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Carmel, they have already played their next match, a 61-35 loss against Peoria Notre Dame on the 6th.
