International Leadership of Texas Keller snaps seven-game streak of wins at home

After a string of six wins, the International Leadership of Texas Keller Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to ILTexas Arlington. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as International Leadership of Texas Keller came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 426th, while ILTexas Arlington is ranked 909th).

ILTexas Arlington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erik Castaneda, who scored 16 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Castaneda has scored at least 25% of ILTexas Arlington's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Burress, who scored six points along with seven assists and six rebounds.

International Leadership of Texas Keller's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for ILTexas Arlington, they pushed their record up to 7-11 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.

International Leadership of Texas Keller will take on First Baptist in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday at. ILTexas Arlington will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Midway at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th.
