Basketball Game Preview: L.W. Higgins Hurricanes vs. Cohen Green Hornets

The L.W. Higgins Hurricanes just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Cohen Green Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cohen took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on L.W. Higgins, who comes in off a win.

Cohen will be up against a hot L.W. Higgins team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. L.W. Higgins strolled past West Jefferson with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 43-29. The Hurricanes pushed the score to 37-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Buccaneers cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Cohen lost 56-31 to Sarah T. Reed last Monday. The Green Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

L.W. Higgins pushed their record up to 16-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points over those games. As for Cohen, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14-1.

Everything came up roses for L.W. Higgins against Cohen in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 52-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for L.W. Higgins since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
