Football Recap: Isaiah Washington's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Terry Sanford over Scotland + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Terry Sanford couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 49-40 to the Scotland Fighting Scots on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Fighting Scots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Washington, who rushed for 224 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, Washington is now averaging an impressive 103.8 rushing yards per game. Another passer making a difference was Jacob Moore, who threw for 200 yards and three TDs.

Scotland found their leader in freshman Mike McLean, who rushed for 276 yards and seven scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. Those seven rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for McLean.

Terry Sanford's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Scotland, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Terry Sanford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Scotland, they are taking a road trip to challenge Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Scots will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
