Softball Recap: Clay County Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Clay County took on Letcher County Central on Saturday. The Tigers lost 10-1 to the Cougars. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 8-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Clay County's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Letcher County Central, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Clay County will be playing at home against South Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Letcher County Central, they will head out to challenge Jenkins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
