Basketball Recap: Blue Mountain Comes Up Short

Blue Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ripley Tigers. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Blue Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Ripley, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Blue Mountain Cougars challenge the Jumpertown Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ripley, they will face off against Tishomingo County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tishomingo County will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Ripley surely won't give up without a fight.
