Basketball Recap: Aiden Salinas and Ac Carpentier Secure Win for London

London entered their tilt with Taft on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Taft Greyhounds 63-41. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Greyhounds are ranked 1122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading London to victory were Ac Carpentier and Aiden Salinas. Carpentier posted 17 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals, while Salinas had 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Salinas has scored at least a third of London's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Newton, who put up six points.

London has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Taft, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-11.

London didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-37 victory against Odem on the 10th. As for Taft, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 81-70 win against West Oso on the 10th.
