Softball Recap: Crown Point Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Crown Point got themselves on the board against Michigan City on Wednesday, but Michigan City never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 11-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Ashlyn Kita was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Anna Neal was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Crown Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Michigan City only posted an OBP of .062.

Crown Point's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Michigan City, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.

Looking ahead, Crown Point will face off against Marist at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Michigan City, they will be playing at home against East Chicago Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
