Recap: ThunderRidge Grizzlies vs. Legend Titans
The ThunderRidge Grizzlies entered their tilt with the Legend Titans with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. ThunderRidge came out on top against Legend by a score of 73-65 on Friday. Given ThunderRidge's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Legend is ranked 41st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
ThunderRidge was led to victory by Andrew Crawford and Charlie Spann. Crawford scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and five assists, while Spann scored 24 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crawford has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tommy Wight, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Seth Whitehead, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Whitehead is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Flowers, who scored 15 points.
ThunderRidge's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Legend, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ThunderRidge will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Highlands Ranch at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. Highlands Ranch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 276 points over their last four matches. As for Legend, they will head out on the road to face off against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Heritage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday.
