Volleyball Recap: Evelyn Ricker and Maddy Amstutz Secure Win for Liberty-Benton

It was a Battle of the Birds when Liberty-Benton faced off against Riverdale on Monday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-12, 25-20.

Leading Liberty-Benton to victory were Maddy Amstutz and Evelyn Ricker. Amstutz had 13 digs and three assists, while Ricker had three digs and three aces. Amstutz is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Liberty-Benton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive matchups.

Liberty-Benton's record is now 15-5. As for Riverdale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Liberty-Benton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Calvert on the 7th. As for Riverdale, they will welcome McComb at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
