Baseball Game Preview: Lynden Christian Lyncs vs. Mount Vernon Bulldogs

The Lynden Christian Lyncs will take on the Mount Vernon Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Lynden Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with an 11-8 win over Bellingham.

Meanwhile, Mount Vernon had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won ten games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Mount Vernon pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Lynden Christian, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
