Baseball Game Preview: Berwick Bulldogs vs. North Pocono Trojans

Berwick hasn't had much luck against North Pocono recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Berwick will welcome North Pocono at 4:15 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Berwick's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hanover Area, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since April 5, 2024.

Not much got past Jake Lisnock, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Hanover Area off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabe Decker, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Evensen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Pocono, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Holy Cross by a score of 5-0 on Tuesday.

Aidan Bassi was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Jason Walsh was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

North Pocono's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Berwick, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Berwick might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from North Pocono in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Berwick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
