Basketball Recap: Muskegon Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked West Catholic

Muskegon hadn't done well against West Catholic recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Muskegon Big Reds managed a 52-46 win over the West Catholic Falcons. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Big Reds' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Falcons are ranked fifth).

The win made it two in a row for Muskegon and bumps their season record up to 8-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for West Catholic, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-3.

Coming up, Muskegon will square off against Kalamazoo Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
