Baseball Game Preview: Lakeview Bulldogs vs. West Branch Warriors

The Lakeview Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the West Branch Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Branch took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeview, who comes in off a win.

Lakeview was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out LaBrae 4-3.

Jason DeMonica looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carter Doran, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, West Branch fell victim to Alliance and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Aviators by a score of 1-0. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Aviators: they've now lost six in a row.

Lakeview's record is now 7-5. As for West Branch, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Lakeview came up short against West Branch in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 4-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
