Basketball Game Preview: McGregor Mercuries vs. Cromwell Cardinals

McGregor is 0-10 against Cromwell since January of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The McGregor Mercuries will look to defend their home court against the Cromwell Cardinals at 7:15 p.m.

McGregor came up short against Stephen-Argyle Central on Saturday, falling 62-36.

Meanwhile, Cromwell entered their tilt with Barnum on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bombers, posting a 63-27 win. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Cromwell found their leader in sophomore Shannon Lund, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 13 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Lund is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Anderson, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 14 points.

Cromwell's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39.2 points. As for McGregor, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.
