Recap: Prairie View Thunderhawks vs. Horizon Hawks

The Prairie View Thunderhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 61-43 fall against Horizon. Prairie View has struggled against Horizon recently, as their match on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Prairie View's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Randall Rogos, who scored 15 points along with three steals. That was a full 34.9% of Prairie View's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Andrew Holman was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Prairie View struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Aiden Greene continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Horizon, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Alex Mccollum, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Prairie View's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Horizon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prairie View will take on Fossil Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fossil Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Prairie View in Colorado (Fossil Ridge is ranked 26th, while Prairie View is ranked 258th). As for Horizon, they will head out on the road to challenge Loveland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loveland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
