Baseball Recap: Pomperaug Comes Up Short

Pomperaug came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Bethel Wildcats, falling 10-1. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Andrew Brocksmith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Pomperaug's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Bethel, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pomperaug will challenge Stratford at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bethel, they will face off against Shepaug Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
