Sam Houston is 3-0 against Erath since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Sam Houston Broncos will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Erath Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Sam Houston is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 goals last Monday, they were much more limited against Barbe last Wednesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Buccaneers an easy 3-0 victory.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Erath was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Tara an easy 4-0 win. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Trojans are ranked 21st).

Erath now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Sam Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-2.

Sam Houston was able to grind out a solid victory over Erath in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 4-2. Will Sam Houston repeat their success, or does Erath have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
