New Caney took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They secured a 46-41 W over Caney Creek. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, MacArthur suffered their biggest defeat since November 25th on Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Spring an easy 63-40 win. The Generals have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

New Caney's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-12. As for MacArthur, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
