Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Milford's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Milford barely beat Panguitch the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 18-4 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Milford got a massive performance out of Hadley Griffiths, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Griffiths a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gracie Dotson, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Milford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Milford is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Panguitch, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-3.

Coming up, Milford will host Parowan at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.82 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Panguitch, they will venture away from home to take on Monticello at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Buckaroo have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.71 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
