Baseball Game Preview: Devon Prep Tide vs. Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls

Devon Prep and Archbishop Ryan are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Tide will be playing at home against the Raiders and Ragdolls at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Devon Prep's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Archbishop Ryan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Devon Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They skirted past Germantown Friends 7-5.

The team relied heavily on Caleb Flannery, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Chase Lubker was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Ryan suffered their biggest defeat since March 31st on Friday. They lost 11-2 to Neshaminy. The Raiders and Ragdolls have struggled against the Skins recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Dave Perez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Daniel Campos also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Archbishop Ryan's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Devon Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
