Volleyball Recap: The Master's Academy Comes Up Short

If The Master's Academy was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Circle Christian on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Orangewood Christian Rams on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rams from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

While The Master's Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-22.

Orangewood Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Sosa, who had nine digs and two assists.

The Master's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Orangewood Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

The Master's Academy and Orangewood Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Eagles will square off against Crooms Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (247 vs. 669). Meanwhile, Orangewood Christian (ranked fourth) will meet Foundation Academy (ranked 70th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
