Softball Game Preview: Brocton Bulldogs vs. Gowanda Panthers

Brocton hasn't had much luck against Gowanda recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Brocton has given up an average of 14.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Brocton is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Silver Creek, falling 18-0.

Brocton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Spiller, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Gowanda can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Pine Valley Central by a score of 6-3.

Gracie Eddy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addison Kota was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Helena Wallschlaeger, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

Gowanda hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Gowanda now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Brocton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
