Fairbanks has gone 7-1 against Madison Plains recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Madison Plains will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Fairbanks extended their winning streak to 14 on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over London.
Macy Kise made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Kise was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jenna Dee, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024. Elizabeth Gregory also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Fairbanks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Madison Plains made sure to put some runs up on the board against Greenon on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles never let the Knights get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won five in a row.
Like Fairbanks, Madison Plains also got a great game from a two-way player: Joy McLoughlin. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. McLoughlin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Lyla Coil was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Abi Lindsey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Fairbanks' win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Madison Plains, their record now sits at 13-4.
Both Fairbanks and Madison Plains just can't seem to miss. The Panthers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Madison Plains struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Fairbanks' way against Madison Plains in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Fairbanks made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
