While Hunter's victory against Cyprus wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolverines had just enough and edged out the Pirates 3-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolverines have posted since March 18th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Hunter who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 24-26, 25-17, 23-25, 15-11.

Keaton Miller paced Hunter's offense, picking up 17 kills. Miller got some help from Ander Davidson and his 33 assists. Legrand Tahi controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Despite the loss, Cyprus still got an impressive performance from Jo Martinez, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Hunter is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Cyprus, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Hunter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Timpanogos on the 25th. As for Cyprus, they will venture away from home to take on West Jordan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
