Volleyball Game Preview: Branson Pirates vs. West Plains Zizzers

The Branson Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the West Plains Zizzers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Branson didn't have quite enough to beat Logan-Rogersville and fell 3-2.

Branson took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 24-26, 18-25, 28-26, 15-10.

Meanwhile, West Plains got the win against Bolivar on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

West Plains not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Bolivar between 17 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-20.

Branson's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9-4. As for West Plains, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4-1 record this season.

Branson suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to West Plains in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
