It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cambridge Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks 7-5. The win continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won four in a row.

Ella Swigart spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Tessa Nichols was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sloane Gaertner, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Cambridge Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they moved to 10-3 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Cambridge Christian and Santa Fe Catholic will both be playing Grace Christian the next time they take the field. The Hawks will host the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lancers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
