Softball Recap: Quaker Valley Quakers vs. Mohawk Area Warriors
Quaker Valley had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-5 to make it six. They came up short against the Mohawk Area Warriors, falling 13-2. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Quakers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Quaker Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie DeGori, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Mohawk Area, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.
On Mohawk Area's side, Reagan Magno made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Magno has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addy Moskal, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Alivia Hare was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
