Volleyball Recap: Grossmont Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Grossmont lost against Valhalla back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Foothillers fell just short of the Norsemen by a score of 3-2.

Grossmont took Valhalla into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 17-25, 21-25, 15-13.

Alexis Holman paced Grossmont's offense, picking up 17 kills. Holman got some help from Jacqueline Villalobos and her 20 assists. Sofia Reid controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Grossmont's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Valhalla, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Grossmont will be playing in front of their home fans against Foothills Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valhalla, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Brawley on the 22nd.
