Recap: Henryville Hornets vs. Borden Braves

The Henryville Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Borden. Henryville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Borden apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Henryville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aydan Head, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Head is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Cooper, who scored 11 points.

Henryville dropped their record down to 5-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Borden, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Henryville will take on South Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 310 points over their last five matches. As for Borden, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orleans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Orleans is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
