Meanwhile, San Pasqual Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 21-20 heartbreaker at the hands of Heritage Academy. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1029th in California, while the Heroes are ranked 215th in Arizona).
Antelope will have to contain Alex Acuna as he made an impact in San Pasqual Valley's last game. He rushed for 148 yards and one score while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Acuna also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending one pass.
Even if they lost, San Pasqual Valley's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Alonso Ramos was the leader with two.
Antelope's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for San Pasqual Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Antelope against San Pasqual Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-0 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
