            Baseball Preview: Plainfield Quakers vs. Northview Knights        
        
		
        
        
            The Plainfield Quakers will venture away from home to  take on the Northview Knights  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many  runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
On Wednesday, Plainfield didn't have quite enough to beat Perry Meridian and fell  3-2.
 Plainfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Zach Rhoden, who  went 1-for-4 with two  runs and one  double.  Alex Holsclaw also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
Meanwhile, Northview didn't have quite enough to beat Edgewood on Wednesday and fell  2-1. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Trey Edlridge was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits.
 Plainfield's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Northview, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Plainfield has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.5  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Northview struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 7.4  strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
