Baseball Game Preview: Gateway Gators vs. Connellsville Falcons

For the second straight game, Gateway will face off against Connellsville. The Gators will welcome the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gateway has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 11th.

Gateway fell victim to Connellsville and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

For Connellsville's part, not much got past Mason Miller, who gave up just five hits to keep Gateway off the board. Miller has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Connellsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Firestone, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Firestone's first of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Connellsville and bumps their season record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Gateway, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
