It was a good run, but Portage Northern unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plymouth Christian Academy Eagles. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Portage Northern's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portage Northern will venture away from home to face off against Byron Center at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lutheran Northwest at 6:30 p.m. on September 4.
