Volleyball Recap: San Dieguito Academy's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

San Dieguito Academy had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Escondido Cougars. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

San Dieguito Academy was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-12.

Leading San Dieguito Academy to victory were Noah Ansaldo and Robbie Hacker. Ansaldo had 22 digs and three assists, while Hacker had 19 assists and four digs. Hacker is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 14 or more in each of the last nine games he's played.

San Dieguito Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive games.

San Dieguito Academy pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Escondido, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Dieguito Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cathedral Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Escondido, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orange Glen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
