Baseball Game Preview: North Fort Myers Red Knights vs. Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons

The North Fort Myers Red Knights will square off against the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (North Fort Myers 4, Charlotte 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

North Fort Myers is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Riverdale 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Red Knights in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won four in a row.

Matthew Blasena made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Blasena was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Blasena wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jakob Wagner, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Charlotte ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out IMG Academy Gold 2-1.

Charlotte has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for North Fort Myers, their record now sits at 15-9.
