Football Recap: Martin Luther King Takes a Loss

Martin Luther King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 20-19 heartbreaker at the hands of the Boys' Latin Charter Warriors. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Martin Luther King's record now sits at 1-6. As for Boys' Latin Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Martin Luther King will venture away from home to challenge John Bartram at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Braves' defense has only allowed 8.1 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Boys' Latin Charter, they will be playing at home against Mastery Charter North - Pickett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
