Baseball Recap: Haxtun Starts Season with Victory Against Highland

Haxtun took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They blew past the Highland Huskies 17-10.

The team relied heavily on Ryland Wolff, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Grant Statz was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Highland fell to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haxtun will take on Wray at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Highland, they will face off against Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
