There's no place like home for Charlotte Country Day School, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Carmel Christian Cougars with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Buccaneers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Charlotte Country Day School never let Carmel Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-6, 25-23.

Charlotte Country Day School found their leader in sophomore Ella Standish, who had nine digs and two assists.

Charlotte Country Day School was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Charlotte Country Day School's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Carmel Christian, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Charlotte Country Day School will challenge North Raleigh Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carmel Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Lee Park Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
