Mingus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 34-0 loss at the hands of the Coconino Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Marauders of the 49-12 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Hunter Bejarano threw for 65 yards on six of 18 attempts. Tristen Timm was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards. On the ground, Remington Stokes rushed for 78 yards.

Coconino had a senior duo take command as Jake Hanley threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt and Habib Aceval picked up 124 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Aceval was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 67 yards. A healthy portion of Hanley's aerial production (83 yards to be exact) also went to Ethan Jeffs, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Mingus' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Coconino, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Mingus is taking a road trip to square off against Maricopa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coconino, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prescott at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Badgers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
