Recap: Clarksville Generals vs. Orleans Bulldogs
After flying high against the Lighthouse Christian Academy Lions on Saturday, the Clarksville Generals came back down to earth. Clarksville was beaten by Orleans 59-25 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 66 points in the game before, Clarksville couldn't push the score so high this time.
Clarksville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayonna Shirley, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Lemke, who scored 6 points.
Clarksville struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Orleans racked up 12.
Orleans' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Callie Alston led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Abel, who scored 12 points along with 7 steals.
Clarksville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Orleans, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarksville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Rock Creek Academy at 7:30 p.m. on November 29th. Rock Creek Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Orleans, they will head out on the road to face off against Loogootee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
