Softball Recap: Thousand Islands Extends Winning Streak to Three

Thousand Islands extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 3-0 in the process. They put the hurt on the General Brown Lions with a sharp 8-1 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

As for General Brown, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. Having soared to a lofty 30 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For General Brown's part, Raegan Burgenstock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. Burgenstock has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Coincidentally, Thousand Islands and General Brown will both be playing Sandy Creek the next time they take the field. The Lions will host the Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Vikings will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
