Basketball Game Preview: Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights vs. Woodlan Warriors

The Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights will face off against the Woodlan Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Carroll just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (56), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Woodlan lost to Bluffton at home by a 67-52 margin on Tuesday. The Warriors were down 52-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers will have to keep a close watch on Alyssa Anderson and Brooke Kneubuhler, a pair of players who had a big impact on Woodlan's prior game. Anderson went 8 of 16 on her way to 16 points along with five rebounds and four blocks, while Kneubuhler posted 17 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. Anderson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Reagan Widenhoefer, who scored seven points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Woodlan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive games.
