St. Joseph extended their home winning streak to seven games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Charlie Stefka. The Flyers snuck past the San Antonio Christian Lions with a 41-35 victory on Friday for which the team can thank Stefka, who picked up 133 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 79 yards.
Despite the loss, San Antonio Christian still got an impressive performance from Ethan Young, who rushed for 131 yards and three scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Sloan Guillory was another key player, throwing for 200 yards and a pair of TDs.
St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for San Antonio Christian, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.
St. Joseph does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for San Antonio Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lutheran South Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
