Volleyball Recap: Monte Vista Takes a Loss

Monte Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Fork Miners. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Miners earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-20.

Destiny Pacheco paced Monte Vista's offense, picking up four kills. Pacheco got some help from Evie Hinds and her 11 assists. Finally, Pacheco was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Monte Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for North Fork, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

Monte Vista didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Telluride on the 1st. As for North Fork, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lake County on the 1st.
