Softball Recap: Franklin Pierce Extends Winning Streak to Three

Franklin Pierce put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Foss Falcons 23-2. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kallie Sullivan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Sullivan was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, Franklin Pierce let Laneigha Garcia and Leila Kennach run wild. Garcia fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5, while Kennach went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those two home runs gave Garcia a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Franklin Pierce's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Foss, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Pierce will take on Steilacoom at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sentinels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.75 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Foss, they will challenge Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Abes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.63 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
