Soccer Game Preview: Sheridan vs. Zanesville

Sheridan hasn't had much luck against Zanesville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Generals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Zanesville better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Sheridan's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Sheridan really gets things going. The Generals never let Philo get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Sheridan, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Zanesville hadn't done well against Johnstown-Monroe recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Johnnies by a score of 2-0. Zanesville's winning goal came courtesy of Connor Baldwin.

Zanesville now has a winning record of 7-6-2. As for Sheridan, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Sheridan suffered a grim 7-2 defeat to Zanesville when the teams last played back in September of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Generals were down 4-1.
