Baseball Recap: Dwyer Comes Up Short

Dwyer and Lake Minneola squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Dwyer had to settle for second. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 12-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this contest were averaging four runs allowed.

Rocco Bianco was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Sully Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Dwyer has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-9 record this season. As for Lake Minneola, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 21-5.
